The harbor station in Friedrichshafen: mobility, architecture, museum
The striking harbor station from 1933 is a typical building of the New Objectivity. Severely damaged during the Second World War and rebuilt by the German Federal Railways in the 1950s, it was placed under a preservation order in 1987. The city of Friedrichshafen acquired this striking architectural landmark and converted it into the Zeppelin Museum by 1996. The guided tour explains the significance of the harbor station in terms of architectural history and transport technology, examines its interior and compares its original functions with today.
