To mark the 130th birthday of Max Ackermann (1887-1975), who is regarded as an important pioneer of abstract painting, the Zeppelin Museum is dedicating a major exhibition to the artist. 130 works provide a comprehensive insight into his diverse oeuvre.

Throughout his life, Ackermann dedicated himself to the ideal of a Gesamtkunstwerk. His works combine painting with music, dance and architecture. Above all, numerous references to music run like a common thread through his works.
